Can you imagine your wedding, with a Piper leading the bride down the aisle, now, can you imagine this celebration without a piper?
Commonly, the piper can lead the bride down the aisle, lead the new couple out of the church, play the couple into the reception, or to the honeymoon transportation. If the honeymoon is to be in the area of the piper, perhaps as a welcome to the honeymoon. Any or all are possible, however remember, unless all concerned, are true afficinado's of the pipes, too much of a good thing can leave a less memorable impression. 1 or 2 tunes are about the most to request.
While there are many tunes which are appropriate for a wedding, not all tunes are known by all pipers. Here's a list of those which I know:
Of course there are several other tunes you may wish, Please check the "Tunes" page for a list and coming soon, audio samples of the tunes. While Amazing Grace is a most beautiful tune on the pipes, it's often associated with funerals, while I won't refuse to play it, just keep that in mind when choosing.
Fee:
For 1 to 3 tunes - $150 + mileage and time if the event runs more than 2 hours. See the fees page for details.
Expectations:
I need to know of course, when and where to be. What tune(s) and when to play. What outfit you wish, (casual, formal, military). Also I need a place to dress and warm up / tune. If possible this needs to be in an area similar in temp and humidity to where I'm to play.
If you want the piper in the pictures, I need to know this ahead of time, and if the pictures are to be before or after the wedding / reception. Also be aware of the time requested. It's one thing to play the bride in and couple out. It's a whole different matter to play the bride in, then request the couple played to awaiting transportation following the reception accross town.
